Bulgargaz EAD

Bulgargaz EAD is a subsidiary company of Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD owning 100 % of the shares. The company’s registered capital amounts to BGN 231 698 584, wholly paid-up by Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD.

Bulgargaz EAD owns the only license for the activity of ‘public supply of natural gas on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria’ for a period of 35 years.

 The main licensing obligations of Bulgargaz EAD as public supplier of natural gas are:

• to conclude transactions with upstream companies and natural gas traders for gas purchase in quantities required to cover the consumption of customers both of those directly connected to the gas transmission network and for performing the activity of public providers;
• to provide continuous and quality supply of natural gas;
• to maintain relationships with energy companies related to the activities of natural gas supply and securing the continuity and quality of supplies;
• to maintain financial resources required to perform the activity;
• to conduct commercial transactions in a way securing its financial stability.

Public supply of natural gas as a main activity of the company is of strategic importance for the stability of the whole energy sector. In this regard, Bulgargaz EAD secures the consumption on the territory of the country pursuant to long-term and short-term contracts for natural gas supply from import and local extraction. With a view to diversification of sources and routes for supply and extension of its operations Bulgargaz EAD cooperates with partner companies in the gas sector.
